Have you ever come across something for the first time then BOOM, it’s everywhere you turn? That is us at the moment with Ho'oponopono, (an Hawaiian healing technique)
At Aruke, we are HUGE on self love and stepping into the best version of ourselves, so OF COURSE we had to jump right on it and experience the magic of Ho'oponopono for ourselves.
We spoke to a few experts in the field such as doctors, reiki masters, kiensiologists, NLP master practitioners, hypnotherapists, counsellors, psychics, healers, psychotherapists and they all agree it is an absolute game changer for self love and growth.
If you haven’t heard of Ho'oponopono before, you are probably thinking, “Yeah ok cool, but what on earth is it??”
Great question! And here is what we have discovered.
Clinical hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner, Matthew Tweedie states; "we may wander through life with certain burdens on our shoulders. It could be having unresolved issues with a person we were once close to, or the avoidance of processing certain emotions related to a loss. You can be reliving certain memories over and over again and feeling the intense emotions that are attached to them.
Ho’oponopono teaches us the importance of regular self love and healing. With the shamanic practice of ‘Huna’, it can essentially evolve our spiritual selves.
The concept of Ho’oponopono is to heal through practicing forgiveness and reconciliation. From this, we can form new connections because the practice sets us in a good, spiritual position to feel positive about ourselves and other people too."
When we spoke with Sharon Tal, The Soul Alchemist, an amazing woman who has trained directly with Hawaiian shamans, she had a really beautiful way of explaining Ho'oponopono:
“In Hawaii, Ho'oponopono it is about making things right, real right. You have to go to the core, go to the origin, you have to go to the ego. I have been exposed to it quite a few times, the first time was in 2012, by an older Sharman, and I think it was 6 months later I flew to Hawaii and then we did an emerging there. Our exposure to it was very interesting, I remember she said it was like holding ontonegative energy and emotions,(which is the opposite of Ho'oponopono) it's like holding a big rock, what’s the weight of the rock? If it's 100 grams, yeah sure that’s possible, but if you are holding it with your arms open for 1 minute, 10 minutes, 10 days, 10 years, you will see it starts to get really heavy, and that is what is happening with the negative energy or emotions.
Ho'oponopono is the Hawaiians original tribal way to really look and overcome all the negativity , to solve things from the core. How do you do this? You raise up all of the negative energy, in order to release it into the light. Once you have done that you really have nothing else wrong. So to make things right, real right, it is to go to the core and make sense for what it is.”
As Doctor Bruno Roque Cignacco explained to us in a really magical way,
“Ho’oponopono just requires that you periodically say four sentences (“I am sorry”, “Please forgive me”, “I love you” and “Thank you”). If you apply this technique with consistency, you will surely see tangible results, when least expected. Sometimes your problems will be solved in a heartbeat; other times they will take a longer time. When you say these words on a continuous basis, either to you or to the divinity, you are deleting your subconscious memories, which are the only cause of all your problems (financial problems, health conditions, relationships challenges, etc.)
When you practice Ho’oponopono, you are dealing with the most powerful energy ever conceived because you are in partnership with Divinity. Any error can be easily rectified when you request the Divine by doing Ho’oponopono. When you delete your subconscious programs you arrive at a state called zero point, where there are no subconscious memories. At this state you are more prone to receive divine inspirational messages.”
Dr. Bruno Roque Cignacco has even written a book about this life changing technique " How to Become a Miracle-Worker with Your Life: Steps To Use The Almighty Ancient Technique Of Ho'oponopono"
What are some of the benefits of Ho'oponopono you might ask?
We asked Psychotherapist, Eugenie Pepper and here is the list of benefits she shared with us:
Clearing out preconceptions
Create new connections
Create more positive energy
Neutralizing negative memories or emotions
Release of negative energies,
Making room for new insights
Ho'oponopono and manifestation.
We also discovered that Ho'oponopono can help you manifest! That’s when we got really excited. Amber Annette, a certified Ho'oponopono practitioner said she personally used this process to manifest and intentionally create a 7 figure business, happiness, health, and have brought so much healing to past and current relationships…... Um ok wow! Sign me up for this healing already.
Ok ok, so tell us how it feels to do Ho'oponopono.
So we gave it a go, first we tried in the mirror, felt a little weird however we instantly saw how powerful it could be just with the power of forgiveness alone, and whether that be to yourself or to others, it’s a good one to experience.
I then snuggled into some comfy PJ's and tried Ho'oponopono via a mediation practice and it felt really good, in fact things came up that I honestly hadn't thought about in over 20 years! It’s so interesting to find the subconscious holding onto a memory that you hadn't thought twice about. Clearly it needed to heal, otherwise it wouldn't have come up! And honestly it wasn't even slightly traumatic (well I don't feel it was), and just to be transparent with you, the memory was at a pool party where a boy from school told me I wasn't that pretty, I seriously had no recollection of that memory up until now, so from the age of 12 that memory was in there, yet I hadn't thought about it all this time, yet when we are so young, the slightest thing can stick with us and we don't realise. As a young girl who was becoming conscious of her body, I wonder (without knowing at the time) how that shaped my thoughts and future moving forward. Anyhow, it felt great to let it go!
Anything that your mind is holding onto, could be the very reason you feel like you have been holding back. I can only begin to imagine how this practice can change a range of things from weight issues, trauma, broken hearts, broken trust and so much more. So if you are feeling stuck, held back or negative in any area, why not give Ho'oponopono a try? It could change your life ❤
